Chanel Bellotto, owner of SkateWorld in Lakeland, said if the legislation passes, she would include the polygraph testing when hiring potential workers.
Recently introduced legislation could provide another barrier for child predators getting jobs at places that deal with kids. The Protect Our Children Act, introduced by U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, would allow private employers whose businesses regularly interact with children to polygraph test potential employees during the hiring process.
Chanel Bellotto, owner of SkateWorld in Lakeland, said if the legislation passes, she would include the polygraph testing when hiring potential workers.“It allows me to go one step further to secure that these children are in an atmosphere that is safe and that’s so important,” Bellotto said.
